Hospital...

Well Melody looked like she had turned a corner in her fight with her sickness and I thought she was in the clear. Yesterday during the day she seemed to be just a bit snifflely but in the evening she started to wheeze loudly. Her breathing was rapid and shallow her tummy retracting so hard it rocked her forward and back. Then she ran a temp. Then she started to cough up mucus and she was becoming dehydrated. So at 4am after a blessing I made that executive decision and took her down to the hospital. They got her in very quickly. She had a 101 temp. Her oxygen levels were at 93 and her heart was beating at 180. She was so dehydrated that after 6 grueling episodes of "Let's poke around for a vein" I finally suggested the prominent one on her head and we had a winner. I'm sad because it will rip her hair out but that's a small price to pay for being hydrated and on the road to recovery. She gets deep suctions of her lungs and albuterol treatments every other hour or so. As for me sleep has been minimal (like 4hours in the last 24 hours) but I have had huge blessings of energy from The Lord's tender Mercy. Which was just enough left to blog this from the bed before I knock out. The hospital has it's own internet and the tv comes with a wireless keyboard. SWEET! Every now and again it says "Welcome Melody" to our hospital on the screen. Technology...it's crazy...but beautiful...I feel like Melody is in safe hands (even if I get a bit bossy! Put that IV here...a few doc shows and read books and I start "thinking" I'm a health care professional?....hmmm. well, I am Dr. MOM)

Well, tomorrows a fresh day with no mistakes...goodnight.
