I decided to be brave and take the kids down to Desert Oasis off Alma School and Guadalupe. They love it there! At least they normally do...
It's getting just a bit harder day by day to do stuff like this now that we are down to the last 2 weeks. And I think the kids nerves are fried because mine are...
Grant at one point stands on the deck crying because his feet are burning. Hello son, Do something about it, like go back over to the water!
Another time a random kid a bit older w/ bright green goggles grabbed onto his leg and wouldn't let go. I told Grant I wasn't going to help him until he told the kid "No" or "Stop". Finally Grant half heartedly says "no" and I joyously tell the kid to let go. (since he had already had the whistle blown on him for doing this to another kid and then kicked and threw water at his mom ...maybe she didn't know there is this thing called time out...) Oh the drama of boys!
Kaden really wants to be independent here and that's hard because I've got to follow his every move. My back and feet were very angry after all of this! I felt like someone should paint the words "Goodyear" on the sides of me. At least blimps can float away!
But the day ended on a funny note despite my whining....
Grant's prayer before bed was:

Grant's prayer before bed was:
"...And bless that we can be complicated."
so I say
"Grant what does complicated mean?"
he says
"uhm, to be a little work."
(to which Tres and I who were already laughing just bust up!)
Funny kid!
I guess my life is destined to be complicated!

Too funny :)
you are one brave momma!
This is hilarious. I can just picture it now.....Poor Roseanne. It was at this point that I just stopped trying to accomplish anything, but I didn't have other children to worry about. And I love the complicated bit. At least he doesn't want to be boring!
