Well here it is, the pit of despair, as I loving call it. It was once a desert broom bush. The neighbors politely asked us when we moved in if we would remove it because when it bloomed it send tons of white fibrous debris into their pool clogging the filters. I dug and removed a large section at the time of this picture. Wow! It was harder than you would think! I thought a lot about how early settlers used to clear areas and remove stumps like this by hand so they could plant crops. Well, ok, fine they even had one up on me because they probably had a good work horse, donkey, mule, cow or ox to hook a chain on and wrap it around the stump. But I had the miracle Blade III which I used like a saw to saw off many limbs with ease. I figured since I didn't have a saw and on TV they use it like a saw, Why not? ( Sorry to Tyler and Diane, probably not how you wanted me to use my miracle blade!) Well, there is working to work and then there is working smart. I'm gonna borrow a sawsall from my Dad so I can get the roots mostly gone. But when all is said and done I'm going to plant something happy in it's place.

So Here is Zack and I at the Desert Botanical Garden where we visited the butterfly exhibit. I love these shots I took of the butterflies. We went for the first grade field trip. It was fun, but a little too long. At least it was partly cloudy and breezy. We had a great day!
