Pioneer night!

Whenever I think about pioneers I think of brave women...
So I got to team up our primary with the Relief Society and hold a combined meeting called "Pettycoats and Lace" The event was for all girls regardless of age. We taught/showed/told them how pioneers played games, lived, ate, made things and even curled thier hair!!
Then we took some pictures! I set up the background for picts and did the hair curling lesson.
Did you know some pioneers got married on the trail? wow!
Above is me, my 2 gals and the top right is my sister Gab.
This is a friend of mine from way back in highschool, they look so great!

The pioneer picture taker helped us to have priesthood at our event,
I refer to this as a win/win senario.

Cutting rags for curling hair

making rag dolls

playing games!

decorating a cup cake whle listening to pioneer stories about food and trail life.

We had so much fun! I just love planning fun activities that also teach principals!! Our girls should know that they can, just like the mormon pioneers, accomplish amazing/hard/good things too!
