I went over to Kristina's today to visit with her family. Her sister (Shawntel) was in town from Iowa and I hadn't seen her since Kristina's brother Daniel died in a police car crash during a pulmonary embolism. Shawntel let me stay with her a week when I visited Iowa in 1997 so it was very fun to get to see her again.
Can I just say something about my awesome child...this girl has no fear!!! Zack and her are like 2 peas in a pod when it comes to doing things that would scare most kids. Abby, Grant and "Cautious Kaden" (as I've been calling him) would have been horrified to hop up on a Clydesdale the first time, let a lone do what she is doing below, rocking, "giddy up pony".
She would have stayed there all day if I had let her! Kaden was over before we even came through the gate..."No mommy!" ..."All done mommy, done!" Not Pie, Kaden does enough worrying for the both of them.
Here's Shawn, looking amazing I might add:
and here is Becky (Kristina's mom): She is the one responsible for teaching me about horses growing up. I got to help break in her Tennessee Walker "Scarlet" growing up.

And why did I say that and shake my head?
Melody loves the mini's!! Just her size....and as you can see... NO FEAR!
She is such a fun baby...most of the time!! *shaking head*
Well, 2 seconds after this shot... she got down really fast, rolled under the fence like a commando, and got in the pen with them!!!! Thankfully I got her out but this girl can just be scary!! These are the moments I love my cautious Kaden who would NEVER do something like this and who was screaming "Melody, Melody!!!" over and over.... See! I really mean it when I say he worries enough for the both of them.
Here's a pict from the wedding... perfect example.....
So far I have really come to think of them as like you would twins. They do nearly everything together even though their personalities are polar opposites.
Kaden even hooked a tiny lawn chair to the back of a walker so he could pull Melody around in it. When they are free to do whatever, these 2 stick together. Funny kids!
