Nostalgia

So I was having a particularly hard day a few weeks back so I decided to take the kids out and drive down memory lane...I used to live over by the temple from1983-ish till Aug of 1989....We were in 11th ward.I'd like to think that B S on the pole stands for bus stop because that's where we stood to catch it every morning.

Here's the one bedroom condo Bonnie was born in..literally! That Juniper tree used to be a small bush! Here's the 2nd house we lived in just 3 doors down from that condo. This was where fun stories like the drunk grandma who thought she lived here and "El Gringo Con La Pistola" originated. We loved to climb the big grapefruit trees in the back. The front porch was a one piece polished and sealed concrete which became an instant slip and slide...just add water!Ahhh...The old Hahn's Supermarket where I watched a tweaked out white guy shove tons of canned food down his shirt and pants before getting arrested....Now selling furniture. I use to take dance classes on the West side of the building called Jeanne's School of Dance. The old Stake center ...now the Church Humanitarian aid center. My old Elementary School! The track where a won a blue ribbon on Track & Field day for the girls mile... I could have been the first of all the kids if it hadn't been for stinking Germy Jeremy and his fast freckly legs.Ye old Thrifty... where you could get a cheep 2 scoop ice cream if you were a good kid...now a Rancho Grande. The apartments behind the Thrifty...a really cool person lived here... *wink*...

I'm soooo glad I don't live in this neighborhood anymore...crime wise...but I do miss all the friends and crazy stories we had!!!
