Dear Gilbert Arizona Temple Mailing List subscribers:
On Wednesday, August 5, the Planning Commission of the Town of Gilbert will meet at 6:00 p.m. to consider three requests for a 21-acre parcel on the southeast corner of Greenfield and Pecos Roads that will permit construction of the new Gilbert Arizona Temple and an adjoining meetinghouse. The requests include (1) a Minor General Plan Amendment to change the land use classification from Residential >1-2 DU/AC to General Commercial (GC), (2) an ordinance to change the zoning from Single Family-15 (SF-15) zoning district to General Commercial (GC) zoning district with a Planned Area Development (PAD) Overlay zoning district with modifications, and (3) a use permit to allow a Large Scale Religious facility within a General Commercial zoning district.
No groundbreaking date has been announced for the temple.
Warm regards,
Rick SatterfieldLDSChurchTemples.com
