Poor Granty Goo! {and Gabby too}

So I had this great idea!
*since when was that sentence ever the start of something good for me*

I'd be supportive and go watch Abby, Zack and Ben in their Walk, Run, Jog club today after school. I was impressed with this club. The first day Abby joined she went 1 mile and 3/4ths!! Abby really wanted me to come and watch her so it SOUNDED like the perfect plan... RIGHT?I took a pict or two as Grant scurried off to play on the "Big toy" the play structure used for kids in 3rd grade or older. (Below is Zack and Ben ....behind Abby...HE HE)

~BUT~

10 wipes, 1 ruined t-shirt, 1 pair of mommy's pants totally ruined and a water bottle of ice LATER we finally learn why kids his age aren't supposed to play on it..... This is what it looked like after all the bleeding took a 1 hour break, then started up again.... It was so deep!

Here we are at the ER getting drugged up and stitched up. Some people were saying "just use super glue or a butterfly". I just didn't want to take a chance, you only get one face! The docs told me that it was good I came in, it was deep! Also, the Doc told me there is a small percentage that if you used glue, and it gets on the eyebrow, the hair folicles can become smothered and will NEVER grow hair again. I saw something like this happen to my brother Jacob so NO THANKS!

The doc said that he's been reading the latest findings about scaring and stitches and so far nothing can beat small stitches using the absorb-able thread.

So, 5 stitches later....

Grant is totally high as a kite and tells me, as he can barely speak, that he feels like a "Wired Snail". "Don't you mean Weird Snail?", I asked. "No, a Wired Snail", he says.

I wonder if this pict on the wall had anything to do with this.

He asked me to take a picture of it before he was all doped up. Too Cute. And miracles upon miracles I was in and out of Desert Sam {or "Banner Desert"} in 4 hours.

That has to be some kind of record!!

I was told that Monday and Tuesday evenings during flu season is a VERY BAD time to go down there. I remember in past visits being there 6 to 8 hours each time.

~>AND A VERY BIG KISS AND HUG GOES TO GAB FOR WATCHING THE KIDS WHILST WE WENT!<~

PS. Gab, I'll NEVER tell anyone how I took you fishing today and the first thing you did was CHUCK Jacob's favorite pole out into the MIDDLE of the lake when trying to cast off!

What did it ever do to you?

I was seriously laughing so much on the inside as you FREAKED OUT hard core that I almost peed when you took the other pole quick and threw the line out again and again trying fish out the Jacob pole which had already sunk to the bottom !
BUT THEN, IT WORKED, YOU ACTUALLY SNAGGED AND RETRIEVED THAT DANG POLE!!! SO WEIRD!

You are the poster child of never give up!!

Seriously!

{You are the LUCKIEST PERSON I know!}

I'm still mad at the IDIOTS who did nikki's chin stitches. Glad you got a great Dr. Watered down peroxide is great on blood so is oxyclean. And I bet you could google some other really fantasic removing solutions.

POOR GRANT! I would totally freak out. For a nurse I am a total wimp when it comes to my kid.....
Nice quick ED visit though. And how crazy is that fishing pole business? Madness, I tell you.
