To Whom It May Concern is a book by Marvin O. Ashton written in 1946. I found it in a thrift store Tuesday and I just love it. Marvin was an amazing bishop and was known for his advice and frankness. I just love seeing how they talked way back when.
Anyhoo, I was excited when I ran across one of my favorite parables illustrated in that old 50's style. I just wanted to share it.

It's the ageless story of the wind and the sun arguing which could take the man's coat off. The wind went first and blew like crazy but the harder he blew the tighter the man held his coat. Then the Sun tried, he did it the warm way and threw his rays down and the man took off his coat.
Satan's plan is the plan of force but Christ's was kindness, meekness, long suffering and patience.
This parable has been with me as long as I can remember.
The best dollar I ever spent at a thrift store!
