My favorite doll of all time was.... duh strawberry shortcake...

Who doesn't think Abigail looks like Strawberry Shortcake? Helllllo!
Our new duck, Quackers, thinks so...
Now for those of you who think I've lost my mind by getting a duck I submit the following:
1. You thought I was sane to begin with???
2. It was $2.00 & He eats the same food as our chickens.
3. It likes to be held, (aka: manhandled) so much it cries when we put him back in his box, but it does sleep quietly all night.
4. When he gets older his wings will be clipped by the vet for good.
5. He is hilarious!! I'm convinced that ducks are more intelligent than Chickens and more hardy.
6. He can easily live with the chickens.
7. Quackers is edible, and so are the eggs depending on what sex it turns out to be.
8. The fun memories for my kids is worth a million Quackers!
9. Our dog is afraid of it.
10. Who ever told you I wasn't a spoiled brat lied....I WANTED it so there! Like I used to tell Tres: I want what I want when I want it!

He is an escape artist! His home is a deep storage bin, with all the fixings. As we were saying the prayer on our lunch today he was sad and want to be with us. So magically he escaped and used Corny to literally walk with him and show him where we were!
We are perplexed on how he did it!
We think he's started an alliance with the dog. It goes something like this...
"psst, hey
I'll shut up and stop chasing you if you get me out of here and take me to my kids...."
Corny removes paws off of his ears and says"DEAL!"

I love that little girl. Tell "Strawberry Shortcake" Aunt Sage Loves her.
So whats next on the Service Farm... a goat.. if you do we can't be friends :)
ok-what is up with the eggs can be eaten depending what sex they are? im not a farm girl-remember.
little abby is adorable! you need to get her some of that suave trawberry shampoo so she can smell like the doll too!
Opps sorry that was not very clear, it was depending on what sex it, (meaning the duck chick) is 'cause we don't know yet. You can't tell (w/o a blood test) what sex baby birds are until they are nearly sexually mature. So basically if Quakers turns out to be a boy than we won't have any duck eggs. You were right to be confused since I'd need 2 ducks to even get fertilized eggs and it would be impossible to tell if you were eating a boy or a girl. Only people in like Brazil knowingly eat fertilized eggs, they are called baloot eggs. GROSS! You can see eyeballs and a beak in those. Holly's husband Jake ate one on his Mission in Hawaii. BLECK!
And there you have it, My usual dose of TMI.
Ok she is so darn cute, but does her hair smell like strawberries?
